Alix returns to her marketing agency roots as head of social!

Digital and inbound marketing specialist Media Matters (MM) has welcomed back Alix Horspool as head of social media.

Alix returns after 12 months working client side, saying: “I took a year out of the business to focus on in-house client services but jumped at the chance to return because I missed the buzz and the variety that agency work offers.”

Alix’s expertise has seen her leap from digital marketing exec responsibilities to her current position, heading up client social strategies while managing delivery and creative planning, all in the space of five years.

“She is an amazing talent and what the future of the MM business is all about. We’re delighted to have Alix back in the MM family and feel very lucky!” says Dawn Strange, MD.

A core marketing channel for all businesses, social media requires a well thought out, data-driven strategy.

“This is exactly what I’ll be overseeing and helping to deliver on for MM’s clients,” explains Alix. “It’s also a channel that changes very quickly, so when this happens, we need to be quick to adapt – having someone in my position, who keeps on top of trends, changes and industry news means that we can action these changes more efficiently for our clients.”

One of the emerging trends right now is personal branding – particularly on LinkedIn. Alix adds: “I’m looking forward to supporting clients with their brand social media but also helping thought leaders develop their own personal branding and online presence.”
