Peterborough Armed Forces Day

May 2, 2023

Peterborough Armed Forces Day, Peterborough Cathedral Square, Saturday 24th June 2023

Armed Forces Day aims to recognise our nation’s past and present Armed Forces personnel and their families, and to show them support from the community and from businesses.

Peterborough will also proudly celebrate this day on Saturday 24 June 2023 in Cathedral Square.

Peterborough City Council is organising the day with support from Armed Forces organisations, charities and businesses, led by the organising committee.

The event has not been held the last 2 years due to Covid, but this year we are looking to start the event again in style.

The day will have a community feel to it with a formal parade to start proceedings, before various bands and acts perform on-stage from 10.30am to 4pm.

We’re hoping for a fun family atmosphere on the day, recognising our Armed Forces and the vital role they perform for us.

Some of the acts on the stage include: The D.Day Darlings, Miss Lily Lovejoy and Major Swing & Kitty to name a few.

The City Council and the organising committee have a ‘Media Plan’ to promote the event, using adverts/posters, newspapers, social media and local radio.

The Business Chamber of Commerce already has a covenant to support the Armed Forces and we hope local businesses will promote the event with posters at work and letting the staff know about the day.

There are opportunities to sponsor and promote your business and we are looking for a stage sponsor for only £1,000. If you have any interest to exhibit in the Cathedral Square or would like to know about the support opportunities please contact John Fox – Tel: 07540 358396 or email: john.foxday@gmail.com
