A Royal Spotlight on Inspire 2 Ignite CIC and the Citizen Hub

Next Generation, Skills Development5 December 2025

Inspire 2 Ignite CIC, representing both their organisation and the Citizen Hub, recently attended a national volunteering showcase at Windsor Castle, marking an important moment of recognition for community-led impact across Cambridgeshire.

The event was attended by His Majesty The King, Her Majesty The Queen, The Federal President of Germany, and Ms Elke Büdenbender, and brought together charities, community organisations and volunteers from across the UK. The showcase celebrated the vital role volunteering plays in strengthening communities, supporting skills development and improving lives.

Recognising the Role of Volunteering in Skills and Progression

The event highlighted the breadth of volunteer-led activity taking place nationwide. From youth engagement and adult learning to food provision and specialist support services, organisations shared how volunteering supports wellbeing, builds confidence and develops transferable skills that benefit individuals, employers and communities.

Volunteers were recognised not only for the time they give, but for the experience, commitment and leadership they bring, often supporting progression into education, employment and leadership roles.

Showcasing Inspire 2 Ignite’s Community and Skills Impact

For Inspire 2 Ignite CIC, the showcase provided an opportunity to share their mission, values and impact with national and international leaders. The organisation highlighted its focus on lived experience, purpose-driven action and youth-led leadership, and how these approaches support personal development, employability and long-term opportunity.

The team also shared how volunteering sits at the heart of their delivery model, with many volunteers progressing into mentors, leaders and role models. These pathways align closely with Local Skills Improvement Plan priorities by supporting skills development, confidence building and stronger connections between people, communities and opportunity.

A Moment of Recognition for Cambridgeshire’s Voluntary Sector

Attendance at the Windsor Castle showcase represents a significant endorsement of the work being delivered by Inspire 2 Ignite CIC and the wider voluntary and community sector across Cambridgeshire.

Their inclusion highlights the important role local organisations play in supporting skills, progression and inclusive growth, and demonstrates how community-led activity continues to contribute to a resilient and future-ready local economy.
