Anne Buckland, Co‑Founder and Director of PR at the Cambridge strategic communications and PR agency We Do Stories, has achieved Chartered Public Relations Practitioner status with the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR).
Chartership is the highest professional accreditation awarded by the CIPR. It recognises senior practitioners who demonstrate strategic judgement, ethical standards and substantial experience in the profession.
For Anne Buckland, the recognition reflects more than twenty-five years of working across international media and communications.
From international media to strategic communications
Anne began her career in broadcast and journalism, working with organisations including BBC World News, Discovery Channel and National Geographic. Her experience in media built a clear understanding of how audiences engage with content, how media coverage develops and how organisations gain attention.
During her career, she has led major international communications campaigns, including a campaign that went on to win three SABRE Awards, widely recognised among the leading honours in global public relations.
That experience now informs the work of We Do Stories, the Cambridge strategic communications and PR agency she co-founded to help organisations strengthen their reputation, raise their visibility and communicate their work with clarity.
Recognising experience and professional standards
CIPR Chartership involves a rigorous assessment process that tests professional judgement, strategic thinking and ethical decision making.
Reflecting on the achievement, Anne Buckland said the process offered a valuable moment to step back and consider the standards expected from senior practitioners.
“Becoming a Chartered Public Relations Practitioner means a great deal to me. It recognises the experience built over many years in media and communications, but it also reflects a commitment to ethical practice and continuous learning.
The assessment day was intense and genuinely enjoyable. It was a chance to explore challenging scenarios with other experienced professionals and reflect on how our work can support clients, teams and the wider community.”
Anne Buckland is also a Patron member of the Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce, supporting businesses across the region that want to communicate their work with clarity and confidence.
Her Chartership adds further senior communications expertise within the Chamber’s business network.
Businesses that want to strengthen their reputation, raise visibility and change the narrative around their work can connect with Anne Buckland through the We Do Stories website, or speak with her at Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce events to discuss how strategic communications and public relations can support their organisation’s goals.
