A senior delegation from Latvia, including the Speaker of Parliament, the Latvian Ambassador to the UK and the Chair of the Defence Committee, visited Cambridge.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured Marshall Land Systems, one of the region’s leading defence and advanced engineering businesses.
The visit was initiated, coordinated and facilitated by the Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce, reflecting its key role in connecting international partners with local industry and ensuring Cambridgeshire is represented on the global stage.
During the tour, the delegation explored Marshall Land Systems’ capabilities and discussed opportunities for future collaboration between UK and Latvian organisations. Conversations also focused on strengthening international partnerships in response to evolving security challenges across Europe.
Charlotte Horobin, Chief Executive of the Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce, said:
“This visit is a strong example of the Chamber’s role in opening doors for our region internationally. We worked closely with partners to bring this delegation to Cambridge and to ensure they could see first-hand the strength of our defence and advanced manufacturing sectors.
By convening visits like this, we are not only showcasing businesses such as Marshall Land Systems but actively creating opportunities for collaboration, investment and long-term partnership.”
The visit underscores the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to driving international engagement, supporting strategic sectors and positioning Cambridgeshire as a key location for innovation, defence and advanced manufacturing.
