Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce is proud to celebrate an extraordinary milestone as Company Secretary, Michael Tolond marks 25 years of dedicated service, recognising a quarter of a century of commitment, professionalism and support to the organisation’s governance and leadership.
Michael played a key role during one of the organisation’s most significant milestones when Peterborough Chamber merged with Cambridge Chamber to form Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce. In March 2003, he was appointed Company Secretary of the newly formed organisation, providing continuity and expert governance throughout a period of significant change.
Over the past 25 years, Michael has become a constant presence at the heart of the Chamber’s leadership. He has attended more than 250 Board meetings, supporting strategic decision-making and ensuring the highest standards of corporate governance.
During that time, Michael has worked alongside 99 directors, supported four Chamber Chairs – Iain Crighton, Mary Currie-Smith, Brian Jones and Faye Holland – and partnered with three Chief Executive Officers: John Bridge, Vic Annells and Charlotte Horobin. His wealth of experience and steady guidance have helped the Chamber navigate growth, change and new opportunities while maintaining strong governance and continuity.
A Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute and a law graduate of London University, Michael has provided legal and company secretarial services to a number of Cambridgeshire based companies. He is also Legal Director of the Leicestershire and Rutland County Football Association Ltd.
Michael’s knowledge, integrity and attention to detail have made him a trusted adviser to generations of Chamber leaders. His expertise has ensured the organisation has remained well governed while enabling the Board and executive team to focus on delivering support, representation and opportunities for businesses across the region.
