As part of its Peterborough Centenary celebrations, the Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce a special Business Dinner bringing together professionals and organisations from across the region for an evening of celebration, connection and inspiration.
Taking place on Friday 27 March at the Holiday Inn Peterborough West, the event will begin with a drinks reception at 6.30pm, followed by a three-course dinner and keynote address.
Designed as both a celebration of the region’s thriving business community and a forward-looking reflection on future opportunities, the evening promises to be a highlight of the 2026 events calendar. Originally born from the long-standing support of the Chamber’s Construction & Property community, the dinner has evolved into a brand-new, cross-sector celebration that welcomes businesses from all industries.
Headline speaker for the evening will be Kevin Byrne OBE, Founder of Checkatrade and one of the UK’s most respected entrepreneurs.
Dr Mike Greene, Chamber Board Director, said: “I’m really looking forward to hosting Kevin Byrne, founder of Checkatrade, at this event. His journey from challenges with drugs and sleeping in his car to building a business he sold for £76 million is one of the most remarkable entrepreneurial stories of our time. Opportunities to hear directly from someone with that level of experience and insight don’t come along often, and the chance to ask Kevin your own questions make this an event not to be missed.”
From launching Checkatrade in 1998, Kevin Byrne went on to build the world’s first online review platform for trades and service providers. The business now supports more than 19,000 companies and generates over £2.7 billion in work annually across the UK.
A dynamic and internationally sought-after speaker, including appearances at TEDx, Kevin shares powerful insights on entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership. His achievements include multiple Sussex Business Awards, The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation, recognition by The Sunday Times Top 100 Companies, and an OBE in 2023 for services to industry and consumer protection.
The Business Dinner offers attendees the chance to connect with peers from across the region, entertain clients in a prestigious setting, celebrate collective achievements, and be part of a landmark centenary occasion. Dress code for the evening is smart business attire (black tie not required).
Sponsorship Opportunities Available – a range of sponsorship packages are available for organisations wishing to align their brand with this flagship centenary event. For more information, please contact events@cambridgeshriechamber.co.uk.
