A Driver from Stagecoach East has been recognised for his calm and compassion in responding to a medical emergency on his bus.
A passenger on Michael Wenn’s Service 5 bus fainted when they were on Huntingdon Road heading towards Bar Hill. He went straight to the passenger’s assistance and supported them throughout, providing reassurance and care when it was needed most. He also made sure that his other passengers were kept informed and remained calm until the passenger recovered.
He has received a commendation and Amazon voucher, from the bus operator, as a result of his actions.
Lewis Freemantle, Duty Manager at Stagecoach’s Fenstanton depot, said: “It’s moments like these that remind us that our job is about much more than driving a bus. Mick’s quick actions, professionalism and genuine care for a passenger in need were outstanding and are a credit to both himself and the company.”
